My wife, Mary Jo and I are disaster relief missionaries.  Our mission field is areas that have been hit by a disaster.  We are a non-profit Christian ministry responding to disasters worldwide and are connected to and work with several fellowships, ministries, and individuals around the country who do the same. Haiti Bound

Haiti Bound

Just a quick note to let you all know that we are packed and ready to head out!  Patrick and Agape will be picking me up at 4 AM and we'll be leaving for Tampa.  From there we'll fly to San Juan and then into Port-au-Prince tomorrow afternoon.  We plan to do a few things around town and then head for Mayette on Friday sometime.  We'll be in Mayette until Wednesday when we'll head back to PauP and then home on Thursday where I arrive at almost midnight.

Please keep us in your prayers especially that the Lord would open our eyes to what He wants us to see, do and be involved with!  Also remember our families who will be at home without us during this time.

Thanks for all your prayers and support.

Proclaiming the Lord in all we do,
In season and out of season.

Lord Bless,
Curt & Mary Jo Hencye

Preparing For Haiti Trip 4

Email not displaying correctly? Please click View it in your browser.
Preparing For Haiti Trip #4

I just finished booking my tickets to Haiti for our 4th trip in. This time we’re flying directly into Port-au-Prince! I’ll be traveling with Patrick and Agape Lataillade, our Haitian missionaries who were injured and lost everything they had during the earthquake. It is exciting to see them continue to press on despite their physical limitations!

We will be going to several of Living Word’s churches and ministry areas and looking into what the Haitians can do to help their countrymen during this time of crisis. I’ll be gone from the 28th until the 6th.

We have a need for antibiotics. If you have access to these and would be willing to donate them for our trip, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact us ASAP!

We’re also going to stop in and see our friends from CC PauP at Calvary Tent City and look forward to seeing all that God continues to do there.

We continue to work on getting things shipped to FL from CA and Mississippi to ship to Jacmel, Haiti as Camp Calvary is set up there for the next couple of years. If you have any contacts that could help get product shipped from CA and/or Mississippi to FL, please contact us and let us know.

On another note, as we continue to stay plugged in locally, hurricane season is right around the corner. There are some preparedness articles on our website if you wish to get yourselves more prepared. Remember, if you’re not prepared and a storm hits your area, then you immediately become a liability rather than an asset, thus creating a double negative!

We’ve been asked by our county to put together another relief training camp in Sarasota sometime in June. If you are local and wish to attend or help facilitate the training, please contact us as soon as possible for more information.

The National Hurricane Center is making several changes this year to how storms are tracked, reported and information is sent out. For a list of the changes that are supposed to take place, please see our website. A lot of hurricane brochures, tracking maps, etc, that get sent out on an annual basis, will not have these changes noted on them as they were more than likely sent to the presses before things were finalized. Some areas will be printing supplements as the info becomes available. There are more changes expected to be made in the coming years and we will do our best to keep you informed.

Thanks for all your prayers and support.

Proclaiming the Lord in all we do,
In season and out of season.
