NYC Bowery June Trip
We are getting all loaded up to take the truck/trailer to NYC and do a week’s worth of maintenance work at The Bowery Mission. Every time we go up we try to do maintenance along with the other duties we have and never get enough done. It is also hard to do all we want to do with limited tools so we decided to just go in with our tools and spend a week just doing all the stuff that never seems to get done! I’ll also be doing some chapel services and teaching the house devotions as well as leading our team devotions each day. Mary Jo will be going with us and will be teaching GED English prep classes during the week. We will take three days to drive up. We will stop Saturday in Richmond, VA where we will stay with Jason and Amara, our friends from CC Mechanicsville who have responded with us several times. Jason and his friend John will be traveling to NYC with us. We will attend church with them on Sunday and spend some time discussing relief work with all those who are interested and letting them see our truck and trailer. We’ll then head out for NYC and spend a week there and be back to Sarasota in about a week and a half. We are also putting together two teams to go to NYC to help us at the Bowery for our next two scheduled trips. Please pray about joining us! The first trip is Aug 1 st8 th; we will be giving Chef Clyde a vacation and taking over for him in the kitchen. We have the volunteer quarters to ourselves and would love to have you join us. The other trip is for our annual Thanksgiving Extravaganza!! This will require a Saturday, Nov 19 thto Saturday, Nov 26 thcommitment. Please let us know if you are interested in joining either of our teams; you’ll be blessed being a blessing to others! Please keep us in your prayers as we head out, serve and then head back home again. Also continue to pray for us as we continue to seek the Lord’s will in ministry, that He would open those doors He wants us to walk through and close those He wants closed and we’d have the wisdom to know the difference and obey!
